Going Ashore - Scrapology March Sketch

Another lovely sketch this month from the Scrapology Blog and the theme is P for Peeking Elements.

I used Bo Bunny Barefoot & Bliss and a photograph taken on our Christmas cruise of me disembarking in Tenerife.  Oh what I would give to feel that warm at the moment and have some beautiful blue sunny skies!!

Apologies for the flashlight on the photograph - the days are so dull and grey at the moment I have given up trying to get a photograph without the flash going off.  I flipped the sketch so that my peeking corner is at the bottom.

I used a Sizzlet die for the foliage and two EK success 6 petal punches for the flowers.  The title was cut using a Sizzlet 12" alpha' die - Naturally Serif.  I used a Martha Stewart punch around the page set to create the lovely border.

Close ups of my peeking elements -

There is still just about time to take part as the challenge doesn't close until the 5th April.

Party Pigs 21st birthday card

I've had time to make another male card for the One for the Boys challenge on the Penny Black and More @ Allsorts blog.

I used a Penny Black stamp called Party Animals

This is also my card for Week 10 of the 52 cards challenge which is to make a card featuring a number.

The papers used are Basic Grey 'Cupcake' and the sentiment is by Penny Black.  The glitter 21 are AC Thickers.  I coloured the image with Promarkers.

I have been asked if I could list what colour Promarkers I use for my colouring - I will try to make a note of this in future.  Off the top of my head, I am pretty sure that I coloured the pigs using pale pink and pastel pink, with sunkissed pink for their blushing cheeks.  The images have been outlined with pastel blue and the shadows underneath the pigs is pastel beige.  I think the hats were coloured with red, azure and bright green.

Getting ahead for St Patrick's Day next year!!!

This month's card challenge on the Scrapology blog is to make a card for St Patrick's Day.  As that day has been and gone I have got a head start for next year LOL!!

I used a lovely digi-image from DigiStamp Boutique - he is currently the March monthly freebie so if you are quick you can download him for free - he comes as a black and white image.

I coloured him with Promarkers and mounted him on a scalloped circle mat and then on a doily cut with a Cheery Lynn die.  The patterned paper is Fancy Pants but I have no idea what the line was as it from my scraps bag.  The sentiment mats are SU oval punches and the sentiment is also from Stampin' Up.

There is plenty of time to take part in the challenge as it doesn't close until the 15th April.

Bikini Cow

The challenge this month at Penny Black and More @ Allsorts is One for the Boys.  So my Penny Black bikini clad cow was ideal for this challenge!!

I haven't a clue what the papers are as they have no details on them, they were in a box of cardmaking stuff that I was given eons ago and I kept them thinking that they might be useful one day.  I used scalloped and plain oval nestabilities to make the mats and the sentiment mats are SU punches with a SU sentiment.

There is still time to take part in the challenge as the closing date is 3rd April

Mini sweetie boxes and cakes

On our recent weekend away at Meadow Barn, we all gave each other little gifts.

I made these little sweetie cartons using the Stampin' Up milk carton die and filled them with mint imperials.  I decorated them with the SU small butterfly punch and gemstones from Triple 07.  I held them together with mini bulldog clips from Paperchase.

The stamped sentiments are by Penny Black.

I also made lots of cakes for the weekend including my coffee and walnut cake -

And Vampire Cupcakes

My Gran

Our February class with Anita MacDonald was this lovely page.

This was my take on the class -

We made the beautiful pins using long head pins, assorted pearls and beads and glossy accents.  I added my title using AC foam thickers decorated with pink stickles.  The papers are Prima Almanac.

Thank you Anita for a lovely class xx

The Ribbon Girl Blog currently has a lovely Peaches and Cream giveaway on their blog - go take a look!!!

Easter cards - Part 2

And some more Easter cards which also fit the Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Spring into Spring and J&C Creations Challenge blog - Easter

I used another lovely Penny Black Duck stamp 'Duckling'.  I bought it last year and then forgot to use it for Easter cards but did use it on quite a few Birthday cards as it is a very versatile stamp.

Apart from the first card that uses freebie magazine paper, all the cards use leftovers from a retreat class kit My Mind's Eye 'Fine and Dandy'.

Other supplies used -

Spellbinder circle and scalloped circle dies
SU sentiment
SU label punches
EK Success butterfly punch
Gemstones from Sarah's Cards

All the images were coloured using Promarkers

Easter cards - Part 1

Before I got sick I spent a lovely weekend near Hereford at Meadow Barn with a load of crafty friends from UKS and got lots of cardmaking done.  I will do a blog post about the weekend very soon but here are some of the Easter cards that I made that weekend.  They fit nicely with some challenges too - Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Spring into Spring and J&C Creations Challenge Blog - Easter.

I used a new to me Penny Black stamp - '...for everything', I just love geese and I think this would also be good for a Mother's Day card.

All the papers are freebie magazine ones which were donated to me by my friend Wendy.

Other supplies -

EK Success border punch
Martha Stewart border punch
SU label punches
SU sentiment
EK Success flower and butterfly punch
Martha Stewart leaf punch
Gemstones - Triple 07 and Sarah's Cards

The images were coloured with Promarkers

Annemie - Sketchy Scrappers February sketch

I am still managing to get layouts from the kit that I chopped up for Prompt 3 of Pretty Paper Party.  This is layout number 9 and there are still enough scraps to get a 10th layout from the kit!!

I did this layout for February's Sketchy Scrappers challenge which was to use this sketch from Pagemaps

And this is my take on the sketch -

I stamped a MME border stamp around the edge of the page using SU crumb cake ink and the stitched lines have been done by hand.

A Lovely Weekend - a mini book

I have made a mini book to give to my Dutch friends as a souvenir of the lovely weekend we spent with them last April.  We had taken my parents over to visit them and their parents and it coincided with Queen's Day which is a national holiday in the Netherlands.

Apologies as this post is very picture heavy

I used a pack of patterned papers from Stampin' Up which were a Salebration gift last year - I have no idea what they are called as I have lost those details.  I embellished all the pages with a mixture of an EK Success butterfly punch, SU butterfly embosslits and the new pinwheel die from SU.

On some of the pages I have added stamped journalling blocks so that Annemie can add her own journalling to the album.

Happy Mother's Day

When I first wrote this post I wasn't going to be at home this weekend - we should have been in Port Zeland, The Netherlands at the Marillion convention.  Sadly due to both of us being laid up with flu' we are stuck at home in our sick beds.  I'm hoping a family member will offer to take my card and gift over to my Mum as I really don't want to be passing this nasty bug onto her.

This is the card that I have made for Mum = I used a lovely digi stamp from Digistamp Boutique - the Louie Love set and coloured it with my Promarkers.

The patterned paper is some really old stash, possibly part of a pack that Lakeland use to sell.  The punched butterflies are EK Success and the sentiment is Stampin' Up.

Hope Mum has a really lovely day and my siblings are spoiling her!!  We will do something nice for her once we are fit and well again xx

Happiness is the Road

Another layout for my Marillion album, this time a photograph and tickets from the Happiness is the Road tour at the end of 2008.

The patterned papers are Bella Boulevard 'Too Cute To Spook' and the border punch used is Martha Stewart.  I cut the large star using a Framelit and the smaller stars are from an EK Success border punch.  The title is Doodlebug alphabet stickers.

Marillion - Cardiff 2012

This is the sketch for this month's challenge on the My Creative Sketches blog.

And this is my layout using photographs from the last Marillion gig that I went to in September last year (thanks to Stefan Schulz for letting me use his lovely photographs).

The papers are all from DCWV Rock Star stack and the stars were made using a cuttlebug embossing folder and cutting the individual stars out.  The title is AC Thickers.

There is still time to take part in the challenge as it doesn't close until 14th March.

Paper Pad Birthday

And this is the other card that I made for Week 4 of the 52 Cards Challenge which was to use a paper pad.

The paper pad used was a freebie one that I got with a card magazine, MME Quite Contrary.

The stamped greeting is Hero Arts and the flowers were punched with an EK Success retro flower punch.  The leaves are a Leonne Em Fern punch.

My Month in Numbers - February

The beginning of the month always means it is time to join in with Julie Kirk's My Month in Numbers

February has been a busy month in the kitchen as I get ready for 2 weekends away.  I have rustled up 76 mince pies, 30 cookies, 1 coffee cake, 1 lemon overload cake, 3 Dundee cakes, 9 baby Dundee cakes and 12 Vampire cupcakes.

Of course the most important number for the month is 7 days to the Marillion Weekend at the Centre Parcs in Port Zelande, Netherlands.

To say that I am excited is a slight understatement - I am positively bouncing off the walls now LOL!!  3 whole days spent with 3,000 other fans, 3 gigs of my favouritest band ever - what is there not to like!!

Other notable numbers for the month are 1 trip to the cinema to see Les Miserables and 1 trip to the theatre to see a school's edition version of Miss Saigon.

Despite all the time spent on baking I have found time to do a bit of crafting too -

8 Memory wire bracelets
1 mini book
7 layouts
3 cards
12 sweet cartons

You can check out everyone else's numbers here
