Birthday balloons

The challenge this month at Penny Black and More at Allsorts is Anything Goes, so I am sharing a card that I have made for one of my nephew's birthday.

I used some magazine freebie papers, the sentiment is from Cuddly Buddly and the gemstone stars are from my stash.  The scalloped mat was cut with a Spellbinder die and the large open scalloped border is a Sizzlet die.  I coloured the image with Promarkers and then glossed the balloons with Pinflair Glaze.

WOYWW #284

It's Wednesday so that means it is time to head over to Julia's and share with all the ladies that 'fess up to the mess or tidiness that is their desk.

A big apology that I didn't make it in last week, Wednesday was the start of turning the house upside down for the fundraiser that I did, so all my crafty stuff was put away tidily hidden from view!!  My usual work station of the dining room table ended up looking like this -

I always have about a week following the fundraiser when I don't feel like crafting at all, so there is nothing to show on my table which is now back in the middle of the dining room.  BUT I must get my butt into gear as I have a few orders for earrings and cards, plus I sold all the post it note pads and my SIL wants more as she showed the one she bought to some work friends and they all want one too LOL!!  The good news is that once I have completed the orders and have fulfilled all the Avon orders placed at the party (I donate the commission) I should have bettered my total raised year, which was £160.

So anyway I have cut all the chipboard ready to make the pads and started choosing some papers - so tonight I will watch The Apprentice and get on with these on my laptray.

If you want to join in with What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, you can find out how to right here

Doggy Dentures

There is a lovely sketch at My Creative Sketches for October.

And this is my take on it - a simple layout for my niece's album, using a photo of her dog Pixie.

The papers are a mixture of Kaisercraft 'Save the Date' and Echo Park 'For the Record 2'.  The title is a AC Thickers and I punched out the butterflies with a Martha Stewart punch and then stuck them back in with the wings raised to look as if they are flying out of the page.

Me on Monday

It was a furniture shifting, packing up fundraising stuff, counting money, working out my orders, but mainly collapsed in a heap on the sofa with a glass of wine whilst watching Strictly and Downton kind of weekend!!

Friday saw me doing this in aid of Children with Cancer Fund

It took a couple of days of furniture shifting and moving stuff upstairs to get the house ready for an all day open house.  So the best part of the weekend was spent putting everything back (well most of it, I still have some to do).  And catching up with sleep, I had lots of sleep to catch up with too!!  But it was worth it as so far I have raised £113 and there is more to come as I will be donating the commission from my next Avon order (looking like £30 at the moment) and I was given some orders for cards, earrings and more post-it note books so I should exceed my £150 goal.

So Monday is looking like this -

The laundry especially the ironing has been seriously neglected for over a week - so today is the day that I tame the beast back into submission - look out ironing monster I am coming to get you!!!!!!!

It was Sian From High in the Sky who started the Me on Monday - so if you are a Monday sharer go and give her a wave!!

Me on Monday

As it is Monday, it is time to give a big wave to Sian over at From High in the Sky and give you a little peek into the weekend goings on at Parkhurst Towers.

It was a fun filled weekend - mainly filled with chatter, eating, crafting, wine drinking and some Strictly thrown in for good measure.
First Sunday of the month is always our crop weekend at Cardinal Colours and Lesley (one of my Meadow Barn friends) was able to join me for the weekend.  I don't need much of an excuse to rustle up a coffee cake and she came armed with pink wine and chocs.  In between the choc/cake eating and wine drinking we got our weekly Strictly fix (though very sad that Claudia was missing, we are both big fans of the Winkleman!!) and did manage a little bit of crafting too.

So today finds me saying goodbye to Lesley, she does look sad to be going home!!

We did go out for lunch though before she headed back off to London.

Sketchy Scrappers - July sketch (Windmill Heaven)

It was my turn to set the sketch in July for the Sketchy Scrappers and I chose this one from Pagemaps

I made two pages using Project Life style page protectors, I have been planning for some time to do these style of pages to speed up the process of scrapping all my holiday photographs.

The front side -

The back side -
The papers used are Fancy Pants 'Park Bench' and Lily Bee 'Buttercup'.  I also used the Stampin' Up Chevron punch and an EKSuccess butterfly punch.  The doily is a Cheery Lyn die and the title was cut using Sizzlet alphabet die 'Naturally Serif'
