Boxing Day Selfies

I have barely done any scrapbooking just lately so I am trying to rectify that and I kicked off 2015's scrapbooking with a challenge layout for Scrapology's January challenge - Lots of Letters.

This is my layout using a photograph that we took messing around on Boxing Day - we just couldn't get a decent selfie and Mr P messing around said that the only decent selfies were the ones where people were wearing paper bags over their heads LOL!!  So five minutes later I had dug out some large paper carrier bags and had drawn our faces on them!!

The papers used are Pebbles Inc 'Treehouse'.  My titles were done with a mixture of vinyl & glitter AC Thickers and Creative Memories, LillyBee and Echo Park alphabet stickers.

I stencilled the background using a Crafters Workshop stencil and distress ink.  The chipboard stars are Thickers that have been coloured with a blue Promarker and then glittered with True Blue Stickles.

Thank you Scrapology for a great challenge - there is still time to take part as it doesn't close till 5th February

Happy New Year Cards

The January challenge over at Penny Black Saturday Challenge is New

These are the little Happy New Cards that I made earlier this month to give to those people that I didn't have a chance to make a Christmas card for.

I stamped directly onto the card and coloured in the cute little mouse using Promarkers.  I then added Glossy Accents to the bubble on his nose to make it shiny.

The sentiment is by Hobby Art.

Poppies

Just a quick fly in with a card that I have made for a couple of challenges.

The challenge for Scrapology was to use this picture prompt/colour chart

I was inspired by the two darker reds and the picture of the flower with the lovely black centre to use this (new to me) Penny Black stamp.

I stamped and embossed the poppy with versamark and black embossing powder twice, coloured them with Promarkers and then cut out the three larger flower heads and added them to the base design with pinflair gel for extra dimension.

I used a Craft Concepts embossing folder to emboss the red background.  The sentiment is Wild Rose Studios and mounted on Stampin Up punched mats.

I am also entering this card into the Penny Black and More @ Allsorts January challenge which is to use stencils, masks or embossing folders.

Me on Monday

The weekend was filled with parent visiting, cardmaking, scrapbooking for the first time in eons, TV watching, staying out of the awful weather and Stampin' Up catalogue perusing.

Today the weather is still blah and my day looks like this -

I'm having a pity party following a 90 minute visit to the dentist for root canal work - I look like Quasimodo, I'm starving hungry and once my mouth comes back to life I just have soup and yogurt to look forward to - the rest of the week can only get better!!!!!

If you have time go and give a wave to Sian at From High in the Sky who is the founder of Me on Monday

My Favourite Five (sorry Six) Cards of 2014

It is now time to share my favourite five cards of the year and link up to Debby who is hosting this blog event.  As always it has been so difficult to choose just five from the year, like my Christmas cards I got it down to six and just cannot choose one to lose so I am sticking with six!!

Made for a friend's birthday, as soon as I saw this new release from Penny Black I just had to have it, the sentiment that came with the stamp is just perfect and makes me giggle.

Our anniversary - using a Sizzix thinlet die that I have hardly used since buying it, I must rectify that in 2015!!
Wedding card for my cousin, this is my favourite Lili of the Valley stamp

For my Mum's birthday, using a Penny Black slapstick stamp

And her Mother's Day card, again using Penny Black

And using the same stamp as above but this time a Valentine's card for Mr P

Thank you to all the lovely people who have taken the time to visit my blog over the last year, I read all the comments and it means a lot to me that people take the time out of their day to stop by and say hello.  Wishing you all a Happy and Healthy 2015 xxxx
