Beat the Christmas Rush Part 2 - Holly Day Critters

When I cut out the mats for my Beat the Christmas Rush cards I die cut a smaller mat from the middle so that I wasn't wasting so much cardstock.  I then die cut the next size down from whisper white cardstock and found a small stamp that would fit nicely.

I used this cute dog from Penny Black 'T for Transparent' set called Holly Day Critters and coloured him with Promarkers before adding Crystal Stickles to his hat for a bit of sparkle.  The sentiment is also by Penny Black.

 

I then added some snowflakes die cut using All Occasion dies from glitter cardstock and some crystals from Majorcrafts.

Everything Beautiful Has It's Moment

This was the beautiful class page that we did with Anita this month using Kaisercraft Blue Bay collection papers.

I used a lovely photograph of my parents taken at a recent family wedding.  The flowers were die cut using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Sizzlet die.  The sayings are printed onto acetate so that they could be placed over the patterned papers.

Beat the Christmas Rush Part 1 - Snowman Holly

OMG where did all the tumbleweed and cobwebs come from???  You would have thought that someone could have put a duster around here whilst I've been laid up!!  Oh well before I do any cleaning I will share some cards made for this month's Beat the Christmas Rush

I used a new stamp bought in the sales by Stampendous called 'Snowman Holly'. 

I coloured the images with Promarkers and then glazed the holly berries with a red glaze pen.

I stamped the holly portion of the stamp again, cut it out and layered it over the top to create some dimension to the card.

When die cutting the mats out for the stamped image, I diecut a smaller rectangle mat from the card so that I wasn't wasting too much cardstock - I then quickly rustled up a set of smaller cards using those mats - I will share those in a couple of days time.

Convention Chocolates

It has become a tradition now for me to make these themed packs of chocolates to give out to friends at the Marillion conventions.  I originally got the idea for them from the It's All Fiddle Fart blog.

This year the albums for the convention were Anoraknophobia and Marbles and I used images produced by Marjo Klingenberg, Carla Barros and Mark Kennedy to decorate them.

I didn't get a chance to photograph the packs that I took to the UK convention in Wolverhampton last weekend as I was still packaging them up the night before we left.  I did however get a quick snap of the chocolates waiting to be packaged.

The only difference apart from saying Wolves 2015 on the back was the Barry image against a Union Jack instead of the Dutch flag.  I enjoy making these as I can set up a production line approach to do them plus they are a great laptray craft so I can watch TV at the same time!!

Me on Monday

OMG what a weekend!!!!!  Three wonderful days and nights spent in Wolverhampton with the Marillion clan for the UK convention.  I am still buzzing with the excitement of it all especially meeting up with friends, some that I hadn't seen for two years since the last convention and meeting for the first time people I have been Facebook friends with for ages.

There were three wonderful nights of music

 There was a flag waving sing-a-long

And a bit more flag waving

 Men dressed as women

 Another sing-a-long

Playing with giant balloons

And laughing through my tears at the end of the weekend

So how does Monday find me, well blue, very blue - not even a Pimms and Lemonade can cheer me up.  This is my post convention, oh no it is going to be another two years till we do this again face

Me on Tuesday!!

A day late with Me on Monday as I was still in weekend mode yesterday.

The weekend was a lovely busy but relaxed one as it went on for four days.  There were two roast dinners, lots of easter egg munching, special Dutch Easter sprinkles on my breakfast cereal, a 40th birthday tea party to attend, Dundee cakes baked and a few layouts finished.  And most important of all, Mr P was home for most of the weekend, a rare treat!!

Today will be mainly spent getting ready for the UK Marillion convention - deciding what t-shirts to pack -

Beat the Christmas Rush - March

I am trying every month to make some Christmas cards so that I have plenty ready for when I do my fundraisers later in the year. 

These are the ones that I made for March's Beat the Christmas Rush.  Whilst we were away at Meadow Barn, Fiona showed us how to make a slider card like this one.  I had a go at making my own but decided to make mine with a sliding Christmas tree as I had the Stampin Up set 'Festival of Trees' with co-ordinating punch with me.

I made six in total - the holly paper is from Craft Creations and the sentiment is  Personal Impressions
