Memorandum Monday

Just a quick fly in to give Sian a big wave over at From High in the Sky - the weekend went quickly and was too hot (for me) - thank goodness for portable air conditioning units and yes Mr P does remind me of how I was not amused when I sent him to B&Q for charcoal and he came back with an air conditioning unit.  But on nights when the temperature outside doesn't drop below 20 yet our bedroom is like a fridge I am so happy and I have to apologise (again) for getting grumpy about his spontaneous purchase!!!!!

Today it is not only a bank holiday but it is my birthday so I am having a very lazy day.  Mr P has declined work today and is going to cook later - we would normally go to my favourite restaurant in Eastbourne but they never open on a Monday not even the holiday ones so that is all booked for next Friday.

I baked myself a cake at the weekend - Lemon overload cake as Mr P is very strange and won't eat coffee cake.

I have been blessed with lots of lovely cards

I have some lovely flowers, new jewellery and some lovely crafting goodies (which I hope to play with later).  I also remembered to get a photograph for the summertime photography scavenger hunt,
#21 - a photograph of you with a newspaper or calendar page from the time covered in the hunt.  I actually already have most of the photographs but haven't blogged them yet so I must get on and do that.

Have a great week everyone, my week includes a trip to the hygienist and our first crop in our new venue - looking forward to meeting some new crafty people at that event and I have spread a rumour that I might make a cake LOL!!

PS if you have been looking at my blog for Beat the Christmas Rush I have a confession to make - I have completely forgotten about it - but don't worry I will make some quick cards and get them posted asap!!  In the meantime I'm off to sit on the blogging naughty step!

Memorandum Monday

I had a little break last week as Sian was away but now she is back it is time to get into the swing of Memorandum Monday again.

It was a quietish weekend - the weather was vile, it was very autumnal with fierce winds and squally showers but not cold, in fact quite humid despite it blowing a gale outside.  It was the kind of weekend that was best spent tucked up indoors though I did venture out on Saturday night to spend the evening with my parents.

I did some crafting - I made a load of Brusho backgrounds a while ago so I messed around with those and some new embossing powder (copper and navy)

I now need to spend a couple of evenings this week embellishing them and finishing them off.

The other major task I took on over the weekend was to sort out my photo files - they were in a right mess, especially my 'to be blogged' folder.  I have almost finished and the one thing I learnt this weekend is that it is much harder to move photos around in Windows 10, than it was in Windows 7 - I am slowly getting the hang of it.  I even managed to make myself delete some photos too!!

So what does this week have in store??  A trip to the hairdressers and my monthly bashing  manipulation at the chiropractors, a bank holiday weekend is looming (expect the weather to be dire!!)  There is an ironing mountain with my name on it and lots of other chores to be done.  I hope you all have a great week!!

Memorandum Mondy

It is Monday so it is time to go and give Sian a wave over at From High in the Sky and give a little update on the weekend.

It was Mum's birthday on Saturday so I spent the evening with her and Dad, we had some fizz plus lots of nibbles and I made her favourite coffee cake.

Sunday it was our monthly crop and it was a little bit sad as this is the last time I will be torturing you with photographs of the wall of cardstock.   The owner of the crop room has put the house on the market so we have had to find a new venue for our crops.  Sadly with holidays only three of us were able to make the last crop.

We did have a new friend join us - Claude the octopus!!!

He got a little bit friendly with me!!

And he makes a great hat LOL!!

Today has been the usual laundry day and a day of booking tickets for gigs in December - so as well as the four Marillion gigs and the Placebo one that we already had booked, we now have Kerry Ellis& Brian May and a H Natural one to look forward to.

Whatever you are up to this week - have a great one!!

Happy Birthday Mum xxx

Today it is my lovely Mum's birthday and even though I had an imaged stamped and coloured, I had been procrastinating over what to do with it.  Anyway finally last night whilst watching the Olympic opening ceremony some inspiration struck.

I haven't made a shaped easel card in ages so using my large Go Kreate circle and scalloped circle dies I made a circle easel card.  The image was coloured with Promarkers and the roses are painted with a Wink of Stella brush marker - sadly the camera doesn't pick up just how sparkly they are.

The flowers are punched with two different Stampin' Up punches and shaped with a ball tool and foam mat.  The flourish is a Cheery Lynn die and the gems are from Majorcrafts.

I am entering the card into this month's Penny Black Saturday Challenge which is to use your favourite technique - I don't really have one fave technique but this card incorporates a lot of the techniques that I use all the time - punched flowers, colouring with promarkers and diecutting .

I'm off to see Mum later armed with a bottle of something fizzy, birthday cake and nibbles to help her celebrate!!

I'm dashing in very late to join in with Sian's Memorandum Monday.

There is something very satisfying about a Monday that falls on the 1st of a month and being able to turn over to the next month at the start of a new week.

So it was time to start a new month in my bullet journal - I am doing a very basic version of bullet journalling.  I've only done one month so far but it seems to be working for me and I will share soon in a blog post.

The weekend was a mixed bag - Saturday saw us head over to Hassocks with my parents for a lunch out with my Father-in-law for his birthday (guess who forgot to take her camera).  Sadly we did have to rush home as Mr P was back on duty at work for a weekend of night shifts.  Sunday I had a very lazy day, I was having one of those days when I couldn't concentrate on anything much so I just watched tv (I'm slowly catching up with Xfiles as I missed so much of it when it was originally screened as I was a shift worker back then), did some reading and some tidying of my craft stuff - I didn't even feel like crafting!!

Anyway I think the lazy day did me good as I am raring to go again!!  Today was shopping day and Mr Tesco delivered to the house as Mr P is still on night shifts.

This is just a small fraction of my shopping, the rest is in the hall waiting till there is room to move it into the kitchen.

I have a nice week ahead - a lunch out with my parents, an 1812 night at the local bandstand with the Central Band of the Royal British Legion plus fireworks and my Mum's birthday to celebrate - I must find some crafting time as I need a card for Mum, won't be popular if I got her a shop bought one LOL!!

Have a great week whatever you are up to and will see you same place, same time next week!!
