Puppy Love

I'm sneaking in quite late this month with my entry for Scrapology's November challenge 'H is for Hearts'.  As soon as I saw the sketch I knew exactly what photograph I was going to use for it.

I am still on a mission to use up all my half used Sarah's Cards kits so used one that was based on Crate Paper 'Restoration' range.

The photo is of my god-daughter's lovely dog Pixie as a puppy, how could you not fall in love with that adorable little face xxxxx

I cut the hearts with a framelit die and layered a patterned heart over the top of a base of Bazzill cardstock.  I used handstitching to hold all the hearts down.
I cut the main title out of funky foam using Tim Holtz 12" sizzlet alphabet die 'Wanted'.  The glitter subtitle is Papermania alphabet stickers.
A sprinkle of gold tone sequins from my stash completed the layout.

Thank you Scrapology for a lovely sketch and challenge to follow x

Have a Bbbrrilliant Christmas

This month's challenge at Penny Black Saturday Challenge is All Wrapped Up.

I made these cards for my fundraiser earlier this month, using this cute snowman stamp from Penny Black T for transparent set 'Jolly Friends'.

The sentiment is from the Little Doo Lally Pip collection by Lindsay Mason (Crafty Impressions).

The papers are mainly free magazine ones apart from the two pink ones which are from Craft Creations.

The snowflakes are mainly diecut with a Cuttlebug die or a Woodware punch using glitter cardstock
I coloured the images with Promarkers and added some glossy accents to the mistletoe berries to make them nice and shiny.

I am also entering these cards into Sue's Beat the Christmas Rush and Penny Black and More at Allsorts 'Anything Goes' challenge.  They were certainly popular at the fundraiser as I sold them all!!

WOYWW #286

It is Wednesday so it is time to hook up with Julia at Stamping Ground and share what is on my work surfaces.

At the weekend I dusted off the sewing machine to make some tissue pack covers following the lovely tutorial that Fiona at Staring at the Sea did back in the summer.  Even though my sewing machine skills aren't the greatest they were very easy to make - thank you Fiona for such a clear and easy to follow tutorial.  My ironing board was put up to provide an extra work surface to work from -

I made four to start with and have already ordered fabric to make some more for a Pass it Forward thingy that I am in.  I will definitely be making these for the fundraisers that I have planned for next year.

Today there is no crafting going on,  not on the dining room table or the laptray as I am busy in the kitchen making these for small Christmas gifts.

The baby Dundee cakes are made using this recipe, they freeze really well and will be ready for me to start gifting in December.

Me on Monday

It was a dusting off the sewing machine, lots of fabric cutting, sausage sandwich eating, Strictly watching with Mum (and the odd glass of wine), Erasure gig going kind of weekend.

Monday finds me a little hoarse (maybe too much singing last night???), nothing exciting on the cards today, just a little of this -

And then a lot of this -

Today Mr P did our fortnightly shopping trip and I have to scan it all (for market research) before putting it away.

Go and give Sian at From High in the Sky a wave if you join in with Me on Monday

What's on your Workdesk Wednesday #285

Gosh in a blink of an eye another week has come and gone, it is Wednesday again and time for crafters around the world to 'fess up about what is on their desks.

The weekend saw the usual crafty takeover of the dining room table and cards were made for orders that I had gained from the fundraiser.  One of the first substantial pieces of 'kit' that I bought when I first started scrapbooking in 2004 was the Creative Memories cutting system - I still use it all the time and still on my first set of blades (the good news is that I managed to get a spare set of blades before they left the UK).  It is so handy to take to crops/retreats when I don't want to lug a die cutting machine with me - at least I can cut circles, ovals, hearts and diamonds.

The laptray was put into action as a post it note pad production line but sadly I never got any photographs of the finished items as suddenly last night I heard my brother was coming round to collect them for my sister-in-law - oh well, if they don't all sell I will get photographs when they come back to me LOL!!

At the moment the laptray is home to beady stuff - I had a request to make some longer dangly earrings for my sister but I had to wait for some longer headpins to arrive in the post.  I will make every effort to get photographs when they are finished!!

So now I must pop over and visit Julia who came up with the idea of WOYWW, if you would like to share your desk then take a look here to find out how.

Me on Monday

Before it rapidly becomes Tuesday I need to tell you about Me on Monday.

The weekend was very craft filled - fulfilling card and post it note orders from the previous week's fundraiser.  The weather was wet, wet, wet so it didn't bother me having a weekend tucked up warm and cosy at home.  There was also roast gammon, rose wine and Strictly thrown in too, so a nice laid back weekend!!

Monday has found me with a large Avon order to unpack, check off and repackage for delivery - I usually only have a small delivery but this was much larger than usual as these are the orders from my open house party.

Go and give a wave to Sian who hosts Me on Monday

Birthday balloons

The challenge this month at Penny Black and More at Allsorts is Anything Goes, so I am sharing a card that I have made for one of my nephew's birthday.

I used some magazine freebie papers, the sentiment is from Cuddly Buddly and the gemstone stars are from my stash.  The scalloped mat was cut with a Spellbinder die and the large open scalloped border is a Sizzlet die.  I coloured the image with Promarkers and then glossed the balloons with Pinflair Glaze.

WOYWW #284

It's Wednesday so that means it is time to head over to Julia's and share with all the ladies that 'fess up to the mess or tidiness that is their desk.

A big apology that I didn't make it in last week, Wednesday was the start of turning the house upside down for the fundraiser that I did, so all my crafty stuff was put away tidily hidden from view!!  My usual work station of the dining room table ended up looking like this -

I always have about a week following the fundraiser when I don't feel like crafting at all, so there is nothing to show on my table which is now back in the middle of the dining room.  BUT I must get my butt into gear as I have a few orders for earrings and cards, plus I sold all the post it note pads and my SIL wants more as she showed the one she bought to some work friends and they all want one too LOL!!  The good news is that once I have completed the orders and have fulfilled all the Avon orders placed at the party (I donate the commission) I should have bettered my total raised year, which was £160.

So anyway I have cut all the chipboard ready to make the pads and started choosing some papers - so tonight I will watch The Apprentice and get on with these on my laptray.

Doggy Dentures

There is a lovely sketch at My Creative Sketches for October.

And this is my take on it - a simple layout for my niece's album, using a photo of her dog Pixie.

The papers are a mixture of Kaisercraft 'Save the Date' and Echo Park 'For the Record 2'.  The title is a AC Thickers and I punched out the butterflies with a Martha Stewart punch and then stuck them back in with the wings raised to look as if they are flying out of the page.

Me on Monday

It was a furniture shifting, packing up fundraising stuff, counting money, working out my orders, but mainly collapsed in a heap on the sofa with a glass of wine whilst watching Strictly and Downton kind of weekend!!

Friday saw me doing this in aid of Children with Cancer Fund

It took a couple of days of furniture shifting and moving stuff upstairs to get the house ready for an all day open house.  So the best part of the weekend was spent putting everything back (well most of it, I still have some to do).  And catching up with sleep, I had lots of sleep to catch up with too!!  But it was worth it as so far I have raised £113 and there is more to come as I will be donating the commission from my next Avon order (looking like £30 at the moment) and I was given some orders for cards, earrings and more post-it note books so I should exceed my £150 goal.

So Monday is looking like this -

The laundry especially the ironing has been seriously neglected for over a week - so today is the day that I tame the beast back into submission - look out ironing monster I am coming to get you!!!!!!!

It was Sian From High in the Sky who started the Me on Monday - so if you are a Monday sharer go and give her a wave!!

Me on Monday

As it is Monday, it is time to give a big wave to Sian over at From High in the Sky and give you a little peek into the weekend goings on at Parkhurst Towers.

It was a fun filled weekend - mainly filled with chatter, eating, crafting, wine drinking and some Strictly thrown in for good measure.
First Sunday of the month is always our crop weekend at Cardinal Colours and Lesley (one of my Meadow Barn friends) was able to join me for the weekend.  I don't need much of an excuse to rustle up a coffee cake and she came armed with pink wine and chocs.  In between the choc/cake eating and wine drinking we got our weekly Strictly fix (though very sad that Claudia was missing, we are both big fans of the Winkleman!!) and did manage a little bit of crafting too.

So today finds me saying goodbye to Lesley, she does look sad to be going home!!

We did go out for lunch though before she headed back off to London.

Sketchy Scrappers - July sketch (Windmill Heaven)

It was my turn to set the sketch in July for the Sketchy Scrappers and I chose this one from Pagemaps

I made two pages using Project Life style page protectors, I have been planning for some time to do these style of pages to speed up the process of scrapping all my holiday photographs.

The front side -

The back side -
The papers used are Fancy Pants 'Park Bench' and Lily Bee 'Buttercup'.  I also used the Stampin' Up Chevron punch and an EKSuccess butterfly punch.  The doily is a Cheery Lyn die and the title was cut using Sizzlet alphabet die 'Naturally Serif'
