What's on your Workdesk Wednesday #285

Gosh in a blink of an eye another week has come and gone, it is Wednesday again and time for crafters around the world to 'fess up about what is on their desks.

The weekend saw the usual crafty takeover of the dining room table and cards were made for orders that I had gained from the fundraiser.  One of the first substantial pieces of 'kit' that I bought when I first started scrapbooking in 2004 was the Creative Memories cutting system - I still use it all the time and still on my first set of blades (the good news is that I managed to get a spare set of blades before they left the UK).  It is so handy to take to crops/retreats when I don't want to lug a die cutting machine with me - at least I can cut circles, ovals, hearts and diamonds.

The laptray was put into action as a post it note pad production line but sadly I never got any photographs of the finished items as suddenly last night I heard my brother was coming round to collect them for my sister-in-law - oh well, if they don't all sell I will get photographs when they come back to me LOL!!

At the moment the laptray is home to beady stuff - I had a request to make some longer dangly earrings for my sister but I had to wait for some longer headpins to arrive in the post.  I will make every effort to get photographs when they are finished!!

So now I must pop over and visit Julia who came up with the idea of WOYWW, if you would like to share your desk then take a look here to find out how.

  1. A hive of activity as always. I had a Fiskars shape cutting system. Purchased when I was new to paper crafting and never got on with it. I think the CM one is a lot better.

  2. Isn't that post it note cover a fab idea?! Perfect for a fundraiser...I'd buy a couple!! It's good to see jewellery making on the desks too, I make quite a few beady bits and pieces too :-)

  3. I still have and use that Creative Memories cutting system! Some days it's just better than dies or punches. And the circles are great to hold my rosettes as I try to get them glued together. Happy WOYWW!

  4. Always interesting to see how many have a desk and a lap tray/ clip board, or a lap desk to carry to an other room.

Love the post-it note holder and the earrings are gorgeous.

    Have a great week

  8. Thanks for your visit and comments earlier on. No, that room will be our bedroom. The craftroom is a much bigger room with an enormous arched window with the same view but bigger.
How interesting that you still use the Creative Memories cutting system. I bought the Fiscars system because it did lots of different templates including large alphabet letters. But I never used it (I still have it) because I couldn't get it to work. I just didn't know how to do it. I never got the knack. I use the templates and draw with a pencil then fussycut the shape by hand! (What am I like!)
Oh yes: the earrings are gorgeous! Your sister is going to be well pleased!
Have a lovely week, God bless.

  9. Mmmm, this reminds me of the things I have but don't use Lol! I have these but have to admit I don't use them but you are right they would be useful to take to crops and workshops.
Hope you have a great crafty week, Angela x 28

  11. Hi KraftyKaren!

The post it notes booklet is very cute! I bet they sell well and you won't get any back to take photos. The coloring is amazing, by the way. I keep going back and forth about keeping or selling my stamps. It's been ages since I've done anything with them.

Glad I helped you figure out what to do with your pegs and how to decorate your tiny tree! I dyed them using RIT dye and it was super simple. You don't have to break them apart or anything as the dye doesn't stick to the metal. The little glitter pieces came in a group (to use on cards, I'm sure) and there you go. I bought some Christmas buttons but decided they don't have the right sparkle to them (total lack of sparkle actually)

Thank you for visiting me already. I'm sneaking in a few visits today.

    Hugs,
    Kay (12)
