Beat the Christmas Rush - September

I really don't use my distress inks enough.  I am not really a fan of messy crafting and whenever I try to make lovely backgrounds well they always look messy because I just don't get on with the blending tool.  I have tried all the tricks of starting the blending on my craft mat and then moving onto the card but I still end up with lines and an utter mess.  The lovely Wendy who I sit next to at crops uses ink dusters and always gets lovely results, so I took the plunge and bought a set of three.  Wow what a difference using a different tool makes, I love using them, they are so easy!!

I made the backgrounds with some new (to me) Stampendous Nativity scene stamps that I have had in my 'waiting to get them inky' pile for some time.  I am going to be entering these cards into Sue's Beat the Christmas Rush and I think these are my favourite 'production line' cards that I have made this year.

Both the sentiments used are from Personal Impressions set 'Many Greetings'.

  1. Oh these are gorgeous! I must definitely get out my under-used distress inks and have a go at this. Thank you for joining in BtCR again Karen.

  2. They are fab, glad you get on with the 'dusters' LOL

  3. The backgrounds are brilliant Karen and they go perfectly with the simple line art.

  4. Oh Karen, WOW, they're fabulous. I really struggle to get results like this. You should do a tutorial

  5. I really don't use my distress inks like I used to , perhaps I should now after seeing your lovely cards.

  6. Oh these are fabulous. I use dusters now much better for my hands.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave me a comment, I do read all of them and they are really appreciated.

Karen xx
