Some of the casual evenings are themed evenings and all the waiters/bar staff dress up and the evening meal is also based around the theme. We had three themed evenings - International, Rock and Roll and Nautical. We decided that we would all dress up as pirates for the Nautical night so headed off to a local joke shop to buy some accessories to pack in the cases. I have been a pirate before at various family fancy dress parties so all I needed to do was pinch one of Richard's old dress shirts to wear. We found a fabulous blow up parrot for Richard to complete his outfit but later that night he was kidnapped by Apple one of the waitresses in the Lido Lounge - I wonder if he will get reunited with my parents in November when they sail again on the Black Watch?? She reassured us on the last evening that he was safely tied up in her cabin so he couldn't fly away and she was feeding him his favourite biscuits Rich Tea!!!

It was a great evening and Dad, Richard and I ended up on stage as the best dressed pirates as part of that evening's gameshow - Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Fun.
